Sorry Gene Simmons, Comstock Park is headed to the state semis

It’s a safe bet that the Comstock Park players weren’t playing any KISS tunes in their locker room after the Panthers defeated Cadillac, 36-29, in Friday night’s Division 4 regional playoff game.

Did you catch what KISS posted on its website Friday?

“Good luck to our friends, the Cadillac HS football team as they play their 3rd playoff game tonight,” is what the rock group wrote on www.kissonline.com. The band has a long-standing relationship with the Northern Michigan community after a coach used its music as a motivational tool in 1974, leading to members coming to the high school's and playing a concert in the gym the next year.

The song that did come to mind after the Panthers held off the Vikings, though, was one that The Police first sang way before any player on this year’s Panthers team was even born.

‘Every single day, every word you say, every game you play…I’ll be watching you’ is how it goes.
