Paul Stanley says KISS Will Never Tour Again Unmasked
Paul Stanley says fans shouldn’t expect another unmasked tour from KISS any time soon. The band went without makeup from 1983-1996, and has never looked back, he says.
“What we do is so unique,” Stanley said. “Once we put the makeup back on, and we reclaimed what we started as — and what we always believed in — there was no reason to go back.”
The only times Stanley, Gene Simmons, Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer play unmasked are during informal backstage shows, at individual special appearances, and on KISS Kruise concert event for fans.
“It’s great to get a chance to play for you without the makeup,” Stanley said of the KISS Kruise. “But we’re so proud of what we’ve accomplished, and we’re so proud to continue on doing what we do. I don’t have any qualms about saying: Nobody does it better. So why jump to another horse? We’re real happy being KISS.”
