Gene Simmons’ special KISS for Perth bride
Who better to invite Brendan Clark to kiss his new bride than KISS frontman Gene Simmons?
The millionaire Perth businessman and philanthropist and his Zambian-born singer partner Portia will say “I do” on The Kiss Kruise in the Caribbean on November 5.
Legendary rocker Simmons — who has been actively involved in Clark’s charity Health Hope Zambia — will officiate at the service.
The future groom told AAA that a traditional wedding “wouldn’t work for us”.
“Portia and myself are very open-minded and love to have a good time,” he said.
“When Gene said he would marry us we were very humbled.
“His wife Shannon, who is a dear friend, suggested the arrangement we are going to get married in, which will be a very private ceremony. “Gene is as outgoing as we are so I am sure it will have his personal touch.”
The couple, who recently opened live music bar and restaurant The Spruce Goose in Subiaco, got engaged in July.
Brendan said he was most looking forward to marrying “the most beautiful girl in the world”.
“Portia starts recording her album with a Grammy award-winning American singer and record producer this year, so I thought I better tie the knot before she gets too famous,” he said with a laugh.
As for whether Simmons’ classic tongue-out pose would make it into their wedding photos, Clark didn’t hesitate: “Of course, don’t expect anything less from Portia and myself.”
