All the makeup, merchandise and more as KISS says 'goodbye' to Detroit
DETROIT -- If this truly was the last time legendary rock n roll band KISS will perform in Michigan, it certainly went out with a bang. Both figuratively and literally, as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame group put on a spectacular performance Wednesday night, March 13, at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.
The two-hour set was packed with hit after hit from a band that's been making music for 45 years. And while the crowd was happy singing along, the grandeur that is a KISS show was at an all-time high as the band blew up plenty of pyrotechnics, shot flames high into the air and used various staging rigs to bring the members above and into the crowd on multiple occasions.
The "End of the Road" tour is supposedly the band's final tour ever and Wednesday night's date is the last scheduled event to take place in Michigan. Skeptics say that isn't the case as rumors are floating the tour may actually last for two years --maybe even more -- which could open the doors for the band to come back again. But as of now, this is the last time KISS will be in Michigan.
The band has plenty of memorable moments in Michigan and should the tour continue, it's a safe bet the band would come back again.
The excitement for the show was palpable prior to doors opening as anxious fans eagerly waited to get inside to snag some of the merchandise for sale. Here's a look at some of the items we were able to see.
